...That is what the description would read if this game were finished. However, it is not. Purple Pages were created during a semester at school as an exploration into 2.5D game design, focused on storytelling through multiple "channels" for player interaction: the written story (the books you can pick up), the audio (the music), and the gameplay.

I saw this project as a personal challenge to discover ways to blend these three elements, and as of now, I didn’t come close to realizing this vision. I did not expect this to be easy, but I was surprised by just how hard it was to construct gameplay, narrative, and visuals simultaneously.

Even though this game is not even close to being finished, I am happy with the end result because I learned a lot from making it. It gave me perspective on what it takes to make games and just how much I still have to learn.
